Tax is calculated on the following basis:

  1. The rates of tax for individuals are applied.
  2. Medicare and the low income tax offset are applied but no other rebates or concessions
    are applied.
  3. The weekly net income is calcuated on the basis of 52 weeks per year.

Note: The simple tax calculator on the ATO website does not include the Medicare levy or the low income tax offset.
