Make Sure You Are Contactable

Ever tried to contact a business and couldn’t find a phone number on their website?
It’s frustrating, isn’t it? You check the homepage, the footer, even the About page—only to give up and move on to a competitor. It sends a clear message: the business doesn’t care enough to make contacting them easy.
Whether a potential client finds you through advertising, Google, or a recommendation, the next step is almost always to get in touch. That’s why your website needs to make that step simple.
Why Contact Details Should Be Front and Centre
Every business, whether it’s a takeaway, florist, removalist, or accounting firm, needs to have their contact details clearly displayed. That includes:
Phone number (consider a mobile if you're a sole trader or provide personalised service)
Email address
Physical and postal addresses
Opening hours
A contact form
A Google Map showing your location
Ideally, this information should appear in a prominent place like the top right corner of your homepage or in a dedicated "Contact Us" page. Don’t bury it in your footer or About page—it’s too easy to miss.
Make Use of Google Maps
Embedding a Google Maps plug-in on your Contact page is a great way to help people find your location. Clients can check how far away you are, look for nearby landmarks, and even print directions.
Also, don’t forget to list your business on Google Maps. When someone searches for “accountant near me,” your firm will only show up if you’ve listed a physical address and phone number. Take it further by:
Adding your logo
Requesting reviews from clients
Keeping your information up to date
Positive reviews and a visible star rating build trust with new clients before they even pick up the phone.
Don’t Forget Holiday Hours
Public holidays are a prime time for errands, and if clients plan to visit you, they deserve to know whether you’ll be open. Update your Contact page before every major public holiday to avoid frustration and lost opportunities.
Make it easier for your clients to reach you, because if they can’t, they’ll go elsewhere. Need help improving your firm’s digital presence? Get in touch with the team at Dolman Bateman.
