How do you price your products in multiple marketplaces taking into account local taxes (VAT & GST) and changing exchange rates?
We developed our own private label business on Amazon.com so we could help our Amazon clients.
We have just expanded our products into Amazon Canada, United Kingdom, Europe and Australia.
So things started to get complicated because we are buying inventory in US dollars, selling in US Dollars, Australian Dollars, Canadian Dollars, Pounds Sterling and Euros plus calculating VAT in the UK and GST in Canada & Australia.
Obviously the price in each country is going to be different, becuase we need to ensure that we are making enough profit after taking into account:
Exchange Rates and
VAT & GST in each country
It is not easy so we developed an Amazon Pricing Calculator spreadsheet so you can work out the right price in each market.
You can download our Amazon Pricing Calculator by completing the form below:
So what does the calculator do?
Firstly it loads the current foreign exchange rates, so you don't have to look them up.
The currencies include:
Australian Dollar - AUD
US Dollar - USD
United Kingdom Pounds Sterling - GBP
Euro EUR
Canadian Dollar - CAD
Japanese Yen - JPY
Chinese Yuan - CNY
New Zealand Dollar - NZD
You can choose any of these currencies to be your home currency, the currency that you buy inventory with, the currency that you sell in and the currency that you get charged Amazon fees with.
This spreadsheet calculates your profit and gross profit rate in the local currency and also converts to to your home currency.
If your target to make AUD10 profit per unit?
What price to you need to charge in Europe to achieve AUD10 per unit after taking into account VAT and the exchange rate.
The calculator also takes into account whether you are:
registered for VAT under the full rate scheme or reduced rate VAT in the UK.
registered for GST in Australia and Canada or not
I have made a quick video explaining how the spreadsheet works.
